Hitchhiking Across the Universe:

Finally. In the past year there haven't been any movies that I've actually wanted to see, the following are ones I have seen:

Bridget Jones 2 (With Mom)
Polar Express (Jake and Isaac)
The Pacifier (People)
The Incredibles (alot of People)
Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (with Jonathan)

Now not that any of them were bad (the closest would be Life Aquatic), but none of them were on my list of must see movies. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was. I've never read the books, but I did see a mini-series once that my brother had some how aquired in high school (I think, this may have been before giraffes) and I only remember one bit of a scene and that overall it was hillarious. So of course I wanted to see the movie despite rumors of a failed adaptation. Originally I was going to go the day it came out, but I would have gone alone. I had asked Gen Meckenstock (I knew she wanted to see it, having read the books and all), but she was going to Manhattan to lay low after Gurple-Gate started. However, we planned to see it monday or tues, but you know how those days are (heathens, the both of them). So we decided to go thurs (yesterday for those of you with short term memory loss) and I wasn't let down. It ranks best on the afore mentioned movie list (for me anyway).

Which makes me want to read the books (that and Gen says that they are better). Fortunately, I am the product of a man's loins who, low and behold, owns said books. The problem, I'm pretty sure I only know where one of them is and the rest are surely lurking somewhere in that dreaded closet attached to my bedroom. This super-storage facility is home to a mountain (literally there are tons) of boxes each filled to overflowing (nearly) with books. The Hitchhiker's Guide Series is probably near the bottom too, if not the bottom. But I'll have a week to search (coming in about two).

Luv,
Clay

Gurple-Gate?

oooh, sounds scandalous!

Whatever could that be?

On another note, I have the first three books, can borrow if you promise to return by August 4th, as they will self-destruct thereafter.

p.s.,
that Gen person sounds brilliant.

An interesting proposition Mr. Dent. However, I don't know who you are; which of course makes it a touch difficult to borrow said books.

As to August 4th, I like explosions.
