No Decks:

This week we've learned that "Works of Clay" does not do decks. At least not after this one. And for that simple reason that it doesn't really fit into the category of painting. Now if it were a new deck, first coat, and didn't constitute all the sanding and scraping, perhaps.

Or if it weren't rotting. A painter, at least this painter, is not equiped, nor does he know how, to fix rotting rail bars or their bases. And that doesn't even count the rotten holes in the floor!

Its been, thus far, everything but painting. And that is what I do. Owell. One more learning experience. At least I don't hate the work . . . I just don't know what I'm doing.

My greatest discovery in the past week is the great distractive power of music and spiritual teachings during tedious work. I must thank Bill Johnson for his six part teaching on healing and Ace of Base's last album Da Capo. They have been my constant friends during the hours of sanding and painting the small fiddle-bits around doors.

Luv,
Clay
