The Rite of Clay:

Color is important if you are a painter. Without color you are screwed. Without a sample you are even more screwed. Fortunately there is hope in the form of little color swatch samples. You have surely seen these lining the walls of nearly every hardware store, paint store, building store, and even Wal-Mart.

I've spent a good many minutes perusing these walls of color at Heartland Building Center (my supplier). Which can be tedious. But there was hope. There is what is known in my world as a . . .

Swatch Paddle

The swatch paddle is a conglomeration of every color in the Benjamin Moore Universe. It is about 3 inches thick and contains every single color that is displayed on those massive color walls. I doubt that I need to describe my deep yearning for this object . . . as to obtain one of these illustrious mechanations is one step in the painter's rite of passage.

Friday, I graciously recieved, with beaming eyes glistening with tears of joy (mild exaggeration), my very own swatch paddle. I have arrived. My supplier likes me . . . and that will make all the difference.

Luv,
Clay

Hey Clay. I disagree with your comment. I think you would love Comic Con. You should really consider coming next year to San Diego for it. I'd hang with you.
