I was so completely soaked that my pants were falling off with the weight of the water. I also nearly ruined my suede shoes. But worst of all is that we were nearly struck by lightning.
It hit the ground about 20 feet away (give or take a few . . . I'm not good with distances.) Amelia screeched and ran and prayed in a panicky sort of way. I just continued my walk. I jumped some, but I'm confident that I have much more to do with my life that I'm not going to die yet.
Though if embarrassment could kill . . . my nipples showing through my watered down white t-shirt would take me out.
The upside of it all though is that shortly after the walk and the wet t-shirt contest was the rainbow that followed. Yeah for rainbows.
