THE GERMANIC PEOPLES OF THE WESTERN UNITED STATES REGIONAL SPRING POETRY FESTIVAL:

There a few days where one is given the opportunity to truly shine and for me tonight was that night. I attended the GPWUSRSPF at the behest of one Gen Meckenstock, whose incessant groveling and begging eventually swayed me to attend. Usually my poetry stays under lock and key for it is far better than the mindless drivel that, given opportunity, spews forth like rushing torrents of lava decimating tiny villages in its path, but a nagging woman can sway anyone given time and, I being the genreous and kind man that I am, chose to read one of my lesser works entitled "Shards." I will now qoute a passage:

It . . .

See simply marvelous if I dare say . . . and I do say in deed. Needless to say my charm and sophistication won out and I recieved first prize (as if anyone would doubt!) a gift certificate to Hastings valuing 25 american dollars. Gen, my groveling association, of course won second, given my expertise and superior tutelage, she wooed the crowd of 15 and came out little under me, bravo dear Gen bravo . . . .

Gen's recount can be found at "A Blog of Gen" under links
The pre-festival interview can be heard at "A Blog of Jake" also under links

Luv Clay
